Life in Los Angeles

Transportation

Public Transportation

If you utilize different type of transportations such as buses, Metro(train), and cars, you can save your time and money.

Unlike Japan, the cost of public transportation does not depend on the distance, but $1.75 for one way.

You will use cars when you need to go to far away from USC or you use them at night. You might use Uber or Lyft as useful apps.

LA is one of the most famous cites in the U.S for trip. Thus, there are many places to visit such as museums, amusement parks, and beaches.

We recommend three museums here. The Broad and LACMA are contemporary art museums. The most recomended museum is Simon Wiesenthal Center. The exhibision of Holocaust which is the persecution in Germany, espescially toward Jeweish people during World War II is holded at there.

Beaches are also great sightseeing spots in LA. Santa Monica Beach is one of the the most famous places for tourists. Venice Beach is located to next to Santa Monica. You can see beautiful sunset from this beach.

Both Disney Land and Universal Studios are different from Japanese one, so just try to go!! Six Flags is a super crazy amusement park which has incredible scary roller coasters. If you are crazy about roller coasters, don't miss it.

Weather

The weather in L.A is one of the great advantages you select USC. It is usually warm except winter. It is also sunny almost every day, but it is rainy sometimes. The climate is dry unlike the humid climate in Japan.

SGI

Students who select USC can attend many SGI activities. SGI members are friendly and kind so they will might become like your family.
